    Right to Public Information Act-2005

    Under the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005, all citizens have the right to access information. For this purpose, Public Information Officers (PIOs) are appointed.

    To obtain information, the applicant must submit a written request to the designated Public Information Officer along with the prescribed information fee, which can be paid in cash, postal order, or e-stamp, etc.

    After receiving the request and fee, the Public Information Officer obtains the relevant information from the concerned department and forwards it to the applicant.

    If the applicant is not satisfied with the information provided, they may file a First Appeal with the First Appellate Authority of the concerned department.

    If not satisfied with the decision of the First Appellate Authority, the applicant may further file a Second Appeal with the Hon’ble State Information Commission.
