Municipal Corporation Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, is the governing civic body responsible for the administration of Rishikesh city.
The corporation comprises 40 wards, and is headed by the Mayor, who presides over a council of 40 elected ward councillors.

Brief History of the Formation of Municipal Corporation Rishikesh:

On 6th November 2017, the boundaries of the then Municipal Council were expanded to include Gram Sabha Rishikesh and Veerpur Khurd.
On 8th December 2017, the Municipal Council Rishikesh was upgraded to a Municipal Corporation.
On 2nd December 2018, the first elected Mayor, Mrs. Anita Mamgain, and the elected councillors of Municipal Corporation Rishikesh took the oath of office and secrecy.
On 1st December 2023, the tenure of the first board of the Municipal Corporation Rishikesh came to an end. Currently, the affairs of the corporation are being managed by an Administrator (District Magistrate, Dehradun).
On 7th February 2025, Mr. Shambhu Paswan took the oath and assumed office as the second Mayor of Municipal Corporation Rishikesh.
